About Me

Sally James began her career as a newspaper reporter in Portland, Oregon. She has talked her way into autopsies, murder scenes, surgeries and medical research labs. Her recent topics include big data, protein folding, citizen science and the influence of social media on cancer patients.  She is a reviewer for the nonprofit HealthNewsReview, which gives grades to health stories. She volunteers at Northwest Science Writers Association and the National Association of Science Writers. She lives in Seattle, Wash., with her husband.
